Meet our Chaplain
Octurus Ivan White III currently serves as the chaplain for the North Houston National Pan-Hellenic Council. With over 11 years of experience in Federal Law Enforcement, he has honed his skills in various roles, including as a specialist in human resources at the regional level.
Throughout his career in Federal Law Enforcement, Octurus has worked closely with pretrial and administrative incarcerated individuals across different security levels. His leadership roles have included Alternate Black Affairs Coordinator, Disturbance Control Team member, Evidence Recovery Team member, and Senior Correctional Training Officer. Additionally, he proudly serves as the Chapter Historian for the Mighty Mutha Theta chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Before his career in law enforcement, Octurus worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at the Management Training Center TDCJ in Henderson, Texas. In this role, he provided comprehensive counseling services within the Correctional DWI Recovery Program, collaborating with other departments to ensure the successful implementation of substance abuse counseling activities for clients.
Octurus is a proud graduate of Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, class of 2005, and a Fall 2002 initiate of the Theta chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Throughout his career, he has consistently received awards for Sustained Superior Performance and Quality Step Increase incentives from 2014 to the present.
Octurus is actively seeking collaboration opportunities and ways to contribute to the NPHC. He believes his diverse background and strong leadership skills could be valuable assets in various professional settings.
