Meet the Financial Secretary
Andrew West is the inaugural Financial Secretary of the newly established North Houston chapter of the NPHC. He currently serves as the 2nd Vice Polemarch of the Spring-The Woodlands-Huntsville (TX) Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and is a member of the Impakt Foundation Board. West also serves as Chairman of the Corporate Sponsorship Committee of the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum. West holds several key roles with Educuase including DEI focused initiatives and part of the NIST White House initiative on Generative AI. West’s expertise is in Board Governance, Website and Mobile Marketing, fundraising, and development.
As a Higher Education Technology Leader, Andrew West has over 25 years of experience in IT leadership, notably as a CIO and VP of Information Technology Leadership Team at Prairie View A&M University. He has managed budgets exceeding $10 million and spearheaded mission-critical projects at Entergy, Shell, CNN, Verizon, CapitalOne Bank, Dillard University and New Orleans Charter Schools.
West is recognized for his forward-thinking approach, leveraging data analytics, strategy, and agility to optimize operations and foster innovation. His skills span mobile app development, cybersecurity, cloud applications, project management, and more. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and has enriched his education through programs at Harvard Innovation Lab and Carnegie Mellon University. Andrew is an author and has been featured in Microsoft's Born to Learn EdTech Blog, Innov8Tiv Magazine, and Dice Careers blog. He has also studied Spanish in Madrid and completed Technology Leadership Cohorts at MIT and Tulane University.
