Meet the President
Meet the inaugural President of the NPHC - North Houston and a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Chanae’ Jones is a mom of two and native of Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University for her undergraduate degree, where she became a member of the Gamma Pi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc in 2008, graduating with her BS degree in Kinesiology in 2009. While at LSU, she served as the chapter president from 2008-2009. She then went on to pursue her Master’s degree in the field of Occupational Therapy, graduating in 2012 from the University of North Dakota as the first African American to graduate from their program. In 2012 she moved to the Houston area to pursue her dream as an Occupational Therapist.
In 2013, Chanae’ and five other women, chartered the Lambda Omega Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. As a member of the Lambda Omega Sigma Chapter she is currently the chapter basileus (president) and has also served as the Vice President, Historian, and 1st Rhoer Advisor. She is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Public Health. She is the owner of Dreamcatchers Therapy and Wellness Services where she works with children with special needs. She founded Little Dreamers Corp., a non- profit organization that focuses on Maternal and Youth health, wellness and community resources. Chanae’s passion in life is based on community service and helping the youth. She looks forward to serving the community in this role with the NPHC North Houston Chapter.
